The AOAA helps to attract and hold the interest of leading young trauma surgeons. This Association affords a channel of communication between committed surgeons and the AO bodies. It encourages the development and progress of fracture management through the experiences and ideas of its members throughout the world. Furthermore, its objective is to update the Alumni on current AO trends and activities in the fields of research, development, education and documentation.

AOLAT proudly announces the founding of the 10th AOAA Chapter in Latin America. The ceremony was held in Asunción on November 15, 2002 and was chaired by Dr. Jaime Quintero, as delegate of Prof. Antonio Pace, President of the AOAA worldwide. It was not a surprise therefore, that a former professional soccer player, Dr. Oswaldo Pangrazio was unanimously elected as President of the AOAA chapter! He will be joined by Drs Julio Segovia, Alvaro Callizo and Oscar Romberg, as members of the local board, all of them soccer fans, as well!
We wish them a lot of scores and a lot of success with future AO activities in this country of gorgeous national parks, magic guarani music and "soccer, of course".
