AOAA North Zone Symposium, July 20, 2008
AOAA North Zone symposium organized on 20.7.08 at Panchkula, Haryana
India
The North Zone AOAA symposium was organized along with Chandigarh chapter of
IOA at Panchkula Haryana o 20th July 2008 with the focus on “Osteoporotic
Fractures”. It was organized by Dr M S Gupta and Dr Ramesh Sen. It was attended
upon by more than 50 Orthopaedic surgeons from North India. This was in
organized in three sessions i.e. 1st session on the Basic Problems of
Osteoporosis, Medical and Radiological management and fracture healing in
osteoporosis. In the second session osteporotic fractures of the upper limb and
spine were discussed and the last session was devoted to osteoporotic fractures
of the lower limb including peri-prosthetic fractures.
Participants presented cases with osteoporotic fractures for discussion. The
interaction with the endocrinologists and radiologists on the topic proved to
be quite informative to participant orthopaedic surgeons.
