Indications

This approach is indicated for:

  • DIP flexion contractures
  • Correction of claw toe deformity secondary to:
      - Late compartment syndrome
      - Neurologic contractures
  • Arthrodesis of the DIP joint

Dissect down to the tendon of flexor digitorum longus (FDL).
Use a blunt hook to find the tendon and pull it towards the skin incision.
Divide the tendon of FDL.
