Supine on conventional table

On a conventional table the patient is positioned supine and moved as close as possible to the edge of the table.

The pelvis is lifted up by a folded sheet under the ipsilateral buttock. A shift towards the other side is avoided by a lateral support at the level of the contralateral iliac crest, so that the table can be tilted.

This position interferes with a good lateral x-ray.
