Two main steps
In the treatment of complete articular fractures distal femoral fractures, the surgeon first reconstructs the distal femoral articular block. The Condylar LCP is first placed in the appropriate position on the distal femur. By doing so, when the surgeon brings the plate down to the proximal femoral shaft, correct alignment (varus/valgus) is established. Particularly, when the metaphyseal component is a simple fracture it may be advantageous to use the articulated tension device to compress the metaphyseal component
of the fracture.
