4Reduction

Closed reduction is aided by:

  • Complete anesthetic muscle relaxation of the patient
  • A bolster posterior to the supracondylar region to prevent hyperextension
  • Manual traction
  • Use of the femoral distractor, or external fixator
  • Percutaneous instruments (e.g., colinear clamp as illustrated)
