Thoracic and lumbar fractures: Posterior long segment fixation

The goal of the separation surgery is to provide circumferential decompression of the spinal cord.

Once the removal of the epidural tumor is completed, the goal of the separation surgery is met. Following separation surgery, the patient should be treated with SBRT in a timely fashion.

If further decompression is needed, the same technique may be applied on the other side.
