Diagnosis

Multifragmentary fracture, intact segmental (AO/OTA 32C2)

print

Multifragmentary segmental fractures result from severe injury to the femur. These fractures normally result from high energy motor vehicle trauma and four-point bending.

Options
1. Proximal diaphyseal-metaphyseal (AO/OTA 32C2(i))
2. Pure diaphyseal (AO/OTA 32C2(j))
3. Distal diaphyseal-metaphyseal (AO/OTA 32C2(k))

1. Proximal diaphyseal-metaphyseal (AO/OTA 32C2(i))

(AO/OTA 32C2(i))

(AO/OTA 32C2(i))

Intact segmental fractures of the proximal diaphyeal-meatphyseal femoral shaft are classified as 32C2(i) fractures.

2. Pure diaphyseal (AO/OTA 32C2(j))

(AO/OTA 32C2(j))

(AO/OTA 32C2(j))

Intact segmental fractures of the pure diaphyseal femoral shaft are classified as 32C2(j) fractures.

(AO/OTA 32C2(j))

(AO/OTA 32C2(j))

3. Distal diaphyseal-metaphyseal (AO/OTA 32C2(k))

(AO/OTA 32C2(k))

(AO/OTA 32C2(k))

Intact segmental fractures of the distal diaphyeal-meatphyseal femoral shaft are classified as 32C2(k) fractures.
