Multifragmentary fractures of both bones are rare and associated with significant soft-tissue damage and should be given high priority.

1.  Segmental fracture of both bones
2.  Segmental fracture of one bone, fragmentary segmental fracture of the other
3.  Fragmentary segmental fracture of both bones

When both bones are fractured, they are classified independently according to the morphology of each fracture.
