This is an intra-articular fracture of the posterior glenoid rim or fossa.
Most of these fractures are associated with posterior dislocation of the shoulder. The posterior movement of the humeral head will typically cause a shearing lesion of the posterior glenoid rim.
Further details on clinical and radiological examination can be found here .
These fractures are further subdivided into two categories:
These fractures are simple posterior, partial articular fractures of the glenoid rim or fossa.
These fractures are multifragmentary posterior, partial articular fractures of the glenoid rim or fossa.
