Arthroscopic approach

These fractures are repaired using an arthroscopic approach to the middle carpal joint for reduction and a stab incision for insertion of the cortex screw in lag fashion.

The arthroscopic approach uses conventional technique with a lateral arthroscopic portal (1) and a medial instrument portal (2).

Approach for partial arthrodesis

The skin incision is made proximally between the extensor carpi radialis- and common digital extensor muscles and tendons progressing distally over the common digital extensor tendon.

Approach for total arthrodesis

The skin incision is made proximally between the extensor carpi radialis- and common digital extensor muscles and tendons progressing distally over the common digital extensor tendon.
