Dorsal midline approach (C1-C7)

With the patient in sternal recumbency, a 20 cm straight skin incision is centered over the fracture site.

Ventral midline approach (C1-C7)

With the patient in dorsal recumbency, a 30 cm midline ventral skin incision is made centered on the affected vertebra, located with intra-operative radiographic guidance.

Dorsal approach (thoracolumbar)

With the patient in sternal recumbency, a dorsal midline skin incision is performed over the dorsal spinous processes centered over the injured vertebrae.

Dorsal approach (DSP)

With the patient in lateral recumbency or standing, the surgical approach to the affected dorsal spinous process(es) is longitudinal and along the midline.

Dorsal approach (sacral)

With the patient standing,the surgical approach to the affected sacral vertebrae is longitudinal and along the midline.

Dorsal approach (coccygeal)

With the patient standing, the surgical approach to the affected coccygeal vertebrae is longitudinal and along the midline.
