Sternal recumbency

The dog is positioned in sternal recumbency. The head is elevated and supported with padded material.

This position is used when a dorsal midline approach is performed.

Dorsal recumbency

The dog is positioned in dorsal recumbency with the neck extended and supported by a padded area.

This position is useful for the intraoral approach.

Lateral recumbency

The dog is positioned in lateral recumbency on a padded area with the neck extended.

This position is useful for treatment of fractures of the zygomatic arch, the TMJ, and in certain occasions for an intraoral approach.
