Elevated fractured leg
Elevated fractured leg enlarge

Supine position with fractured leg elevated

The patient is positioned supine on a traction table with both legs in traction. The injured leg is elevated 30-40° to facilitate reduction of any flexed proximal fragment (iliopsoas muscle).

This position can be helpful in situations where extensive fracture comminution is present.
