While frontal sinus obliteration is a treatment option, endoscopic sinus surgery techniques can be used to open the frontal recess from below. This is a highly specialized technique reserved for surgeons with extensive experience in traditional endoscopic sinus surgery.

With this approach careful follow up is essential. The patient should be educated as to what symptoms to look for and a follow up scan should be obtained within 6 weeks to 3 months.
